Description
The Panel Pro is designed with zero back lash or free play. If there is backlash, it will show up as a hole that is not symmetrical in the x or y axis or may show discontinuities at points of axis direction reversal.
Backlash may also show up as issues with the Measure Pro intermittently failing.
Backlash can be due to wear, damaged or loose components. Sometimes it can be discovered by giving each component a good shake and listening or feeling for clunking sounds. In most case good testing will involve the exact measurement of the backlash.
Applying a force of 10 pounds or so will result in some deflection. However the position should spring back to its original position once the force is removed.
We have made available a back lash dial indicator with holder to identify backlash in the Panel Pro x and y axis.
