Description
The Panel Pro LZ2 laser engraver is an accessory for the Panel Pro sn 2001 and higher
The LZ2 works great with engraving plastics designed for laser such as Rowmark LaserMax. It is possible to remove a layer of powder coat to reveal a white color underneath, however most powder coat is thick enough that by the time the thick black layer is burned off, the smoke and heat make the underlying white look dingy. We recommend the EG2 engraver for that process.
The LZ2 also produces great looking panel marking on materials such as light colored textured powder coat by darkening the surface with heat.
Features:
- It is simple to use
- No contact with the panel
- No consumables, cutting bits etc required.
- coolant not required
- Uses the same dxf file that the Panel Pro cutting operations use.
See the faq for more information.
The LZ2 mounts on the Panel Pro Accessory mount. All Panel Pro 5925s manufactured in 2018 (sn 2075) and higher are laser ready, however serial numbers less than 2101 will need a firmware upgrade which is free to sn > 2095, but will require the controller sent back to us. All Panel Pro 6126s are laser ready.
Panel Pro model 5925s serial number 2001 through 2074 need to have the controller and cables (including the cable guide that connects the Y axis and Z axis) as well as the Measure Pro, returned to Buller Enterprises, Inc. for modification and certification for laser.
This laser is not a toy. Strict adherence to safe operating procedures listed in ANSI Z136.1 is required. Failure to observe safety precautions could result in severe injury including blindness, in addition to fire and smoke from burning material hazards. Any material that creates hazardous fumes from burning will create hazardous fumes from lasering.
The laser is intended for engraving, however the LZ2 can cut some thin materials. See the previous model LZ1 cut a gasket out of 1/16″ urethane foam. https://youtu.be/mwaPhzoGnWA
